Debórah Bond is a celebrated singer-songwriter, radio host, and mentor known for her soulful vocals, thought-provoking lyrics, and emotionally charged stage presence. With four studio albums, two remix projects, and a live album—several of which charted and earned Washington Area Music Award nominations—she continues to be a vital force in the indie soul scene.
Bond is a passionate collaborator, having recorded with world-class musicians like drummer Nate Smith, trumpet virtuoso Sean Jones, Jamiroquai’s Derrick McKenzie, vibraphonist Warren Wolf, and violinist Dr. Chelsey Green. Her recent collaboration with Hungarian bassist/producer Bertalan Temesci on “Soul is the Flavour” earned her a Fonogram Award (Hungarian Grammy). She was also a 2024 finalist in the Bernard Ebb Songwriting Awards.
She enjoys lending her voice as a background vocalist for legends such as Melba Moore and Miki Howard, and has shared stages with artists like Ledisi, Rahsaan Patterson, Lalah Hathaway, and Nate Smith. Her band has performed at top venues around the world including Jazz Café (London), Warner Theater (DC), the Kennedy Center, and the Shubert Theater (New Haven).
An accomplished voiceover and jingle singer, Bond can be heard on WKTU New York and stations across the globe. She spent 10 years on-air with Sirius XM and continues to be active in the world of voice performance. Onstage, she’s toured internationally with UK acid jazz legends Incognito and has held residencies at Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha and the Strathmore Center for the Arts.
Bond also serves as the newly elected President of the Recording Academy’s Washington, D.C. Chapter after eight years on its Board of Governors. Deeply committed to her music community, she mentors and coaches up-and-coming talent, helping shape the next generation of soul artists.
